Quality Assessment of Treated Sludge From a Polishing Pond for Agricultural Reuse

Abstract	In Nepal, limited sewerage coverage and increasing fertilizer costs have intensified the need for sustainable fecal sludge management and resource recovery. Treated sludge from fecal sludge treatment plants offers potential as a soil conditioner and nutrient source, but its safe agricultural reuse depends on meeting physico-chemical and microbiological quality standards. Therefore, assessing the quality of polishing pond–treated sludge is essential to support safe and sustainable reuse practices.
