GPS-Enabled Toll Collection System (TollTrack) Using Raspberry Pi

| Abstract | The increasing number of vehicles on highways has made traditional toll collection systems inefficient, causing congestion and delays. This project presents TollTrack, a GPS-based toll collection system using Raspberry Pi that eliminates physical toll booths and enables automatic, distance-based tolling. The system uses a GPS module to track vehicle location in real time and sends the data to a backend server, where geofencing is used to detect toll zones. The distance travelled is calculated using the Haversine formula, and toll charges are computed dynamically. Testing results show that the system provides accurate tracking with minimal delay and ensures fair pricing based on actual distance travelled. The proposed system offers a scalable and efficient solution for future GNSS-based toll collection. |
