Abstract During emergencies, personal safety depends on fast and reliable SOS com- munication and response. Traditional methods such as phone calls, mobile applications, and panic buttons have the limitation of delayed triggering due to the involvement of manual operation of the device by users. Since time is the key factor in determining the effectiveness of such SOS devices, they are considered disadvantageous. To overcome this, the proposed solution is a voice-triggered distress alert system that listens for specific distress keywords customized by the user during the initialization of the device. Upon detec- tion of a keyword, the current location of the user is obtained using GPS and shared with the designated authority using a GSM module, providing timely assistance. Experimental results show that this system proves to be reliable and practical for prompt response during emergencies.
