Abstract This paper presents a simulation-based study of the Perturb and Observe (P&O) maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm for photovoltaic (PV) energy harvesting systems using SEPIC Converter. To evaluate the performance of the P&O algorithm under uniform irradiance, partial shading, and varying irradiance conditions a 50 W PV module was modeled in MATLAB/Simulink. Simulation results indicate that the P&O algorithm achieves satisfactory performance under uniform irradiance, with an efficiency of approximately 88%.
