Teamwork-oriented Training Activities and the Technical Execution Precision among Wushu Players

Abstract This study examines the influence of teamwork-oriented training activities on the technical execution precision of Wushu players at Xiamen Yunding School, a public K-9 institution in Fujian, China, with a well-established martial arts program. Grounded in social cognitive theory and the concept of collective efficacy, the research addresses the persistent challenge of maintaining technical consistency in high-difficulty Wushu routines, where millimeter-level deviations in posture, power, or timing result in significant competitive scoring penalties. Using a descriptive-comparative-correlational design, data were collected via researcher-developed questionnaires from purposively sampled Wushu practitioners. The instrument assessed five dimensions of teamwork-oriented training (spatio-temporal phase synchronization, allocentric spatial mapping, reliability of kinetic cues in duilian, morphological and stylistic convergence (shenfa), and reciprocal pedagogical literacy) and five dimensions of technical execution precision (kinematic chain integration and power generation (fajin), postural stability and center of mass management, joint angle accuracy and morphological alignment, aerial rotation and multi-planar orientation, and “quiet eye”/gaze fixation (yanshen)). Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient were employed for data analysis. Results indicate that higher engagement in teamwork-oriented training activities correlates significantly with improved technical execution precision, particularly in high-fatigue scenarios and complex aerial maneuvers. No significant differences in training activity perception or technical precision were found across sex or age groups, but variations emerged by training tenure. The findings underscore that collaborative training environments enhance proprioceptive awareness, reduce cognitive anxiety, and foster psychological safety—key mechanisms for optimizing neuro-motor efficiency in individual Wushu performance. Based on these results, a synchronized kin-esthetic feedback program is proposed to integrate teamwork-based strategies into Wushu pedagogy, providing a practical framework for coaches to enhance both technical consistency and competitive resilience among practitioners.
