Institutional Resource Allocation for Audio Technology and Immersive Music Instruction

| Abstract | In the context of rapidly evolving global media industries, institutional resource allocation for audio technology and the delivery of immersive music instruction represent deeply interdependent pillars of modern creative arts education. Grounded in the Resource Orchestration Theory for Educational Digital Infrastructure (ROT-EDI), this study investigates the relationship between institutional resource allocation for audio technology and teacher self-assessment of immersive music instruction among faculty members at Minnan Normal University, China. Employing a descriptive-comparative-correlational research design, data will be collected through a researcher-made 4-point Likert scale questionnaire administered to teacher-respondents selected via stratified random sampling. The study measures two core constructs: (1) institutional resource allocation across six dimensions—audio hardware adequacy, software licensing, technical support, budgetary priority for acoustics, professional development funding, and equitable tech distribution; and (2) immersive music instruction across six indicators—spatial audio mixing, VR/AR integration, real-time multi-sensory feedback, gamified engagement, multi-channel collaborative performance, and embodied learning. Descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, weighted mean), One-Way ANOVA with Scheffe post-hoc, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation (r) will be utilized at p < 0.05. Findings are expected to reveal how strategic hardware-software-human capital bundling scaffolds or hinders faculty pedagogical adaptation in spatial audio environments. As an output, the study culminates in a proposed Spatial Audio Lab Infrastructure Development Program to optimize capital expenditure and support sustainable, industry-standard music technology education in East Asian higher education. |
