Abstract | The family, as a primary social unit, significantly impacts the mental health of women, particularly in culturally rich yet patriarchal societies like Rajasthan. This research article explores the role of family dynamics in shaping the mental health of women in Rajasthan, focusing on aspects such as familial support, interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution, and gendered expectations. By analyzing the intricate interplay of traditional practices, socio-economic conditions, and evolving family structures, the study aims to understand how these dynamics influence psychological well-being, emotional resilience, and stress levels in women. Employing a mixed-method approach, the research incorporates qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys to capture diverse perspectives across urban and rural settings. The findings underscore the dual role of family as both a source of support and a potential contributor to stress, depending on factors like communication patterns, decision-making authority, and caregiving responsibilities. The study concludes by advocating for community-based mental health interventions, promoting awareness of equitable family dynamics, and suggesting policy changes to foster a more inclusive environment for women’s mental well-being. |
