| Abstract | REST APIs are the backbone of modern enterprise applications, enabling seamless communication between distributed systems. However, as applications scale, REST API performance and reliability become critical concerns. This paper explores best practices for designing scalable REST APIs, including stateless architecture, caching, load balancing, and API gateway integration. We discussstrategies for optimizing request handling, managing security, and implementing API versioning. The paper also presents performance benchmarking and real-world case studies to illustrate the impact of scalable API design. |
