Abstract | A simple, efficient, and high-yielding one-pot multicomponent synthesis was developed using 5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione, acetanilide, and substituted benzaldehydes. The reaction mixture, with a few drops of triethylamine, was subjected to microwave irradiation at 180 W and 120°C for 5 minutes. This microwave-assisted method offers notable advantages such as reduced reaction time, excellent yields, and environmental sustainability. Microwave-Assisted Organic Synthesis (MAOS) has proven to be a powerful approach for promoting rapid and clean transformations. The synthesized compounds were structurally confirmed using IR, NMR, and Mass spectroscopy. Additionally, antioxidant activity studies were conducted, revealing promising bioactivity of the synthesized quinoline derivatives. |
