Abstract | Traditional security systems like CCTV and alarms often suffer from slow response, high costs, and reliance on human monitoring. This research presents a cost-effective, IoT-based Smart Home Security System using Arduino or NodeMCU, PIR sensors, and wireless modules (Bluetooth HC-05 or Wi-Fi). The system detects motion through infrared radiation changes and verifies the event to reduce false alarms. On confirmation, it instantly alerts the user via a mobile app and makes an automatic call to a preset number, ensuring quick attention. Test results show 98% detection accuracy and an average response time of 4 seconds. Compared to conventional systems, this setup offers greater affordability, scalability, and ease of installation |
