Abstract | In urban environments, solid waste management (SWM) is a major challenge, especially in fast growing areas like Santa Rosa, Laguna. Because marketplaces are centers of economic activity, the trash produced by market operations has a big influence on vendor profitability as well as environmental sustainability. When incorporated into market operations, efficient SWM techniques can lower operating expenses, improve the marketplace, and even boost vendor profitability. However, the use of such methods is still uneven and frequently hindered by a lack of resources, understanding, and enforcement of policies. Market sellers are essential to local commerce in Santa Rosa, fostering both community well-being and economic prosperity. Despite their importance, limited research exists on how these vendors perceive and implement SWM practices and how these practices influence their profitability. |
