Abstract | : The widespread adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) is actually enabling smart city projects and initiatives worldwide. Objects used in daily life are equipped with sets of electronic devices and protocols so that they can be interconnected and connected to the Internet. According to a recent Gartner study, 60 billion connected objects will be deployed in smart cities by 2023. With the launch of various smart city projects and projects in recent years, we have seen the associated risks in addition to the expected benefits. We also discuss the interaction between smart cities and the Internet of Things and explain some of the reasons behind the development and evolution of the Internet of Things and the smart city. Finally, we will talk about the weaknesses of the Internet of Things and how to solve them by using them in smart cities. |
