Abstract | This paper examines the impact of childhood emotional abuse on the subjective well-being and suspicion levels of institutionalized adults (both male and female) in Kolkata, India. It draws information from various recent secondary sources, and a discussion on how emotional maltreatment during formative years leads to chronic psychological issues and contributes to the development of distrust in interpersonal relationships is carried out. |
