Overview of IFAS System-Wastewater Treatment

Abstract IFAS stands for Integrated Fixed-film Activated Sludge. It is a hybrid biological wastewater treatment technology that combines the benefits of conventional activated sludge and attached growth (biofilm) systems. IFAS is primarily used in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment to enhance nitrification, BOD removal, and overall plant capacity.
