A study on Professional Commitment among B.Ed. teacher trainees

Abstract | This study examines the level of professional commitment among Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) teacher trainees using a descriptive survey method. The investigation focused on five dimensions such as commitment to the learner, society, profession, excellence, and basic human values. The findings provide insights into strengthening teacher education programmes to foster higher levels of professional commitment among future teachers. This research paper attempts to study the Professional Commitment of Male and Female B.Ed. teacher trainees in Various B.Ed. colleges of Mysuru affiliated to University of Mysore. The sample consists of 479 (112 Male and 367 Female) B.Ed. teacher trainees, selected randomly. The data were collected by using standardized tool Professional Commitment Scale which was constructed by Dr. Ravinder Kaur, Dr. Sarbjit Kaur Ranu and Mrs. Sarvjeet Kaur Brar. It is revealed through the present study that, B.Ed. teacher trainees in Mysuru have an Average level of Professional Commitment. The findings showed that there is no significant difference between Male and Female B.Ed. teacher trainees on various dimensions of Professional Commitment. |
