Soccer Management Practices and Team Performance among Soccer Athletes in a Technical University in Zhejiang Province, China

Abstract	This study examines the correlation between soccer management practices and team performance among athletes at a technical university in Zhejiang,China.Data were collected from 164 athletes using a validated questionnaire.Results indicated very positive assessments of coaching practices(Overall Mean=3.81),particularly in Leadership/Motivation and Communication.Team performance was also highly rated(Overall Mean=3.73),with strongest scores in Team Chemistry.Statistical analysis revealed significant positive correlations(p<0.01)between all management practice dimensions and all team performance indicators.Game Management/Decision-Making showed the strongest relationship with overall performance(r=0.833).While age influenced perceptions of coaching effectiveness,sex and experience showed no significant differences.The study concludes that effective management practices—especially in-game decision-making,leadership,and communication—are strongly linked to enhanced team performance.Recommendations include refining feedback mechanisms,tactical training,and motivational strategies,supported by a proposed Performance Analytics and Strategic Planning Program.
