Abstract The growing generation of construction and demolition (C&D) waste has increased the need for sustainable construction materials. This study investigates the mechanical behaviour of epoxy-treated recycled aggregate concrete (RAC). Recycled coarse aggregates were coated with epoxy resin to improve their surface properties and bonding with cement paste. The concrete specimens were tested for compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength, and modulus of elasticity. Results showed that epoxy treatment enhanced the overall mechanical performance of RAC by reducing water absorption and improving aggregate–paste bonding. The study concludes that epoxy-treated recycled aggregate concrete is a sustainable and effective alternative for structural applications, promoting waste recycling and conservation of natural resources.
