Stability Analysis of a Sixth-Stage Fifth-Order Runge-Kutta Method for Solving Initial Value Problems

Abstract This article investigates the stability of a sixth-stage, fifth- order Runge-kutta method which had already been derived in our previous results. The method is subjected to the test equation given as y = λy, where a complex constant is λ, and the resulting expansion and algebraic manipulations were done with the help of Maple-18 and Matlab package, to ease the simplification of the computation. The region of stability in the method is determined to verify the nature of the stability of the method, using Matlab package.
